Practical changes that lift FPS and remove stutter when TACZ and gun packs are installed.
Allocate Enough RAM
Gun packs add many models, textures and sounds. In your launcher's profile settings, set Java arguments to around -Xmx6G for a modest pack list, and avoid going above roughly half your system memory. Too little RAM causes stutter; too much can also hurt through long garbage collection pauses.
Video Settings
- Render distance 8–12 chunks for most PCs.
- Simulation distance 6–8.
- Graphics set to Fast and clouds off if you need extra frames.
- Entity shadows off in busy fights.

Performance Mods
Forge-compatible optimisation mods can improve frame rates. Popular choices include Embeddium for rendering and ModernFix for load times and memory. Add one at a time and test, since shader and rendering mods can conflict with TACZ's custom rendering.
Shaders and TACZ
Shaders look great but cost the most performance, and some shader setups can show visual issues with weapon models. If you use a shader loader, choose a lighter preset during combat-heavy play.
Keep Packs Lean
Remove gun packs you do not use. Every pack loads at startup even if you never craft its weapons. See Best TACZ Gun Packs for how to pick well-built ones, and check system requirements if your hardware sits near the minimum.
